With over 320 items to choose from, it’s hard for Pat Bradley to pick which one means the most. The major championship hardware certainly holds a special place in the Career Grand Slammer’s heart, as does her very first LPGA Tour card signed by then LPGA president Carol Mann.

There’s her original LPGA Tour money clip, which she received at the start of her rookie season in 1974, and a stout collection of trophies that Bradley won throughout her amateur and professional careers, each one possessing a unique memory that the quick-witted 74-year-old can recall at the drop of a hat.

But there’s one photo that particularly stands out, a snapshot the LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famer couldn’t believe she still had tucked away when she began sorting through the golf memorabilia she’s collected over the years in preparation for donation to Mass Golf.

“I found a picture of me and Francis Ouimet together,” said Bradley. “I was 15 years old when I met Mr. Ouimet with golf, so that was a thrill.”

The Hyannis, Mass., native started talking to the folks at Mass Golf in early 2024, wondering if she could give the organization the mementos she had accumulated throughout her playing career, hoping that they would aggregate and house everything at their headquarters in Norton, Mass., much like they had for some of the state’s other golf icons. And much to Bradley’s grateful delight, Mass Golf agreed to give the 31-time LPGA Tour winner her own space in their building located just down the way from TPC Boston.

“It's the room that the LPGA used last year for their (FM Championship tournament) office,” Bradley explained. “That's when I knew. They said, ‘Pat, this is going to be your room.’ That was a huge eye-opener that I wasn't going to have a shelf. I was going to have an actual room for my trophies and memorabilia.

“Francis Ouimet is right across the hall from my room. The Curtis sisters are right down the hall from my room. And Donald Ross is right behind my room. I'm in great company. I'll have some nice late-night chats with these incredible people in our game of golf, and we'll have a lot to talk about in each of our journeys in the game.”

The entirety of Bradley’s personal collection totaled 23 boxes, a well-lived golf life encapsulated in photographs and artifacts, each one telling a story of how Kathleen and Dick Bradley’s little girl reached the pinnacle of the sport she fell in love with as a child. Along with the Ouimet photo, Bradley found several other interesting things while parsing through all the items, some of which were a series of scrapbooks her father had put together documenting her successes on the golf course, compilations she was happy to see survived the wear and tear of the passage of time.

“My dad had four huge scrapbooks, starting my amateur years, and then he did a scrapbook for my rookie year on the LPGA Tour. To know that that was all intact, I was amazed,” Bradley said. “My dad, he spent hours clipping and piecing together these scrapbooks that I really didn't know existed until I dug into the archives of the family home after my mom had passed. It was really amazing that my dad, he knew something was going to happen someday down the road, down the line, and sure enough, it's all at Mass Golf House.”

The Pat Bradley Room was officially unveiled on July 1, with many of Bradley’s friends and significant individuals in the Massachusetts golf community attending the festivities. But there was one person in particular who showed up for her big moment that Pat couldn’t have been more pleased to see – her nephew and eight-time PGA Tour winner Keegan Bradley.

It’s not entirely rare for golfing families to have more than one member reach the professional ranks, but Pat and Keegan share a fairly uncommon aunt-nephew bond that likely will never be replicated again in the history of the game, one that extends well beyond their connection as major champions and multiple winners on their respective tours.

Pat was a member of the 1990, 1992 and 1996 U.S. Solheim Cup Teams before being selected to lead the Americans as captain in 2000 when the biennial team event was contested in Scotland at Loch Lomond Golf Club.

Like his Aunt Pat, Keegan represented the United States in the Ryder Cup in 2012 and 2014, earning four points for the Red, White and Blue in those two appearances. But now, this year’s Ryder Cup, which is set to be played at Bethpage Black at the end of September, will see Keegan become the second member of his family to lead a United States Team after being selected as the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain, much to Pat’s excitement.

The two were able to spend some quality time together when Pat’s room opened on July 1, and while she was overjoyed at the amount of love and support she received on her incredibly special day, Keegan coming out to see her was one of the top highlights.

“It was wonderful to have Keegan there. He made everybody's day. Especially, he made my day by being there,” Pat said. “I know he's busy. He's been on the road working hard, and he's got a family, yet he took time to spend the afternoon with me, which I was thrilled. It was great. He endured the day. He had pictures taken galore, and he was wonderful. He was very accommodating to everyone who was there. I was very, very grateful.

“I've always said his father gave him the fundamentals of the game. His father gave him the love of the game. And I believe that I inspired Keegan through my career to be inside the ropes, walking the big stage along with great players. He is doing that so well, and I'm so proud of him. To see how far he's come and what he's doing as Ryder Cup captain. He's put himself on a new level, and I couldn't be happier for him.”

And Keegan is surely just as proud of his Aunt Pat, whose life and golf career now have a forever home at Mass Golf and whose story can be enjoyed for many more years to come by anyone who wants to learn about one of golf’s greatest champions, a woman who has left an indelible mark on the game at large.

“To know that my collection will be intact and be maintained at the Mass Golf House is really something very special,” Bradley said. “It could have been divided out here, there and everywhere, but it's wonderful to know that it is well taken care of by Mass Golf. It's the cherry on top of the icing (of the cake), having my collection there at Mass Golf.”
