The LPGA Tour in is Norton, Mass., for the second-ever playing of the FM Championship at TPC Boston. Inaugural winner Haeran Ryu is back in the field in 2025 and will be looking to successfully defend a title for the first time in her career among a stacked field that includes 15-time LPGA Tour winner Nelly Korda and Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul, as well as major champions Brooke Henderson and Minjee Lee. They will be joined by 19 of this season’s 22 total rookies, most notably 2025 LPGA Tour winners Akie and Chisato Iwai, Ingrid Lindblad, Rio Takeda, Lottie Woad and Miyu Yamashita, a slate of athletes that are among the 23 different champions this season, what is a still-developing record on Tour.

Thursday, 8:06 a.m.*/Friday, 1:21 p.m. – Nelly Korda/Brooke Henderson/Minjee Lee

Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 2 Nelly Korda is making her tournament debut at the FM Championship this week, having not played in the inaugural edition of the event in 2024 at TPC Boston. This is the 15-time LPGA Tour winner’s 15th start of the 2025 season, and she has made the cut in every tournament in which she has played so far this year, collecting an impressive six top-10 finishes, four of which are top fives that Korda tallied at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions (2), the Mizuho Americas Open (T5), the 80th U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills (T2) and the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open (5). According to data provided by KPMG Performance Insights, Korda’s six top-10 results is tied for the most in 2025 without a victory alongside Hye-Jin Choi and Ariya Jutanugarn. And while many have been surprised to see Korda remain winless after picking up seven titles in 2024, her 2025 stats indicate that the former Rolex Rankings No. 1 is in no way playing lackluster golf. From 175 to 200 yards, the 27-year-old is hitting it to 35 feet 11 inches, well closer than the Tour average of 42 feet 9 inches from the same distance. She is ranked inside the top five of strokes gained off the tee (2, +0.94), strokes gained total (3, +2.31) and strokes gained tee to green (4, +1.58), additionally leading the Tour in birdie percentage (25.16 percent), birdie or better average per round (4.59), birdie or better percentage (25.49 percent). She is also second in scoring average (69.84), second in par-5 scoring (4.57) and tied for third in rounds in the 60s (25).

Canadian Brooke Henderson finally captured her long-awaited 14th LPGA Tour title last week at the CPKC Women’s Open in her home country and will be working to ride that momentum into the FM Championship. Like her groupmate Korda, Henderson is also making her tournament debut at TPC Boston and will be teeing it up in her 19th event of the 2025 LPGA season this week in Massachusetts. Along with her performance in Canada, the two-time major champion has one other top-10 to her credit this year, a tie for ninth that came at the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards. Looking at her statistics, Henderson is ranked inside the top 20 of two major strokes gained categories, currently sitting at 16th in strokes gained off the tee (+0.58) and 17th in strokes gained around the green (+0.33), according to KPMG Performance Insights. She is additionally third in total driving, six in ball striking (23) and 15th in driving accuracy (76.71 percent), all of which are critical skills on which the 27-year-old will need to lean at a venue that requires precision off the tee.

Minjee Lee won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June, and several times since has threatened to potentially nab another 2025 victory, what would be her 12th career title on the LPGA Tour. The Australian has racked up five other top-10 results in addition to her win at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco, four of which are top-five showings that have come at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions (T4), the Blue Bay LPGA (2), The Amundi Evian Championship (T3) and last week’s CPKC Women’s Open, where Lee finished second by one stroke to home-country hero Brooke Henderson. According to KPMG Performance Insights, in her last eight starts on Tour, Lee has tallied eight straight top-25 finishes, has a score to par of 51 under in those tournaments and has gained 2.63 strokes total in that span. In terms of her season-long performance, Lee is second in both strokes gained total (+2.54) and strokes gained putting (+1.15), ninth in strokes gained off the tee (+0.70) and 18th in strokes gained tee to green (+1.06). Lee is also third in scoring average (69.91), third in sub-par rounds (39) and tied for third in rounds in the 60s (25). This is her debut in the FM Championship.

Thursday, 1:10 p.m./Friday, 7:55 a.m.* – Akie Iwai, Chisato Iwai, Haeran Ryu

In 18 starts this season ahead of the FM Championship, Japanese rookie Akie Iwai has made 13 cuts on the LPGA Tour. The 23-year-old – whose twin sister Chisato is also a 2025 rookie and featured in this grouping – has earned five top-10 finishes, including a win at The Standard Portland Classic earlier this month, where she recorded four rounds in the 60s and bested American Gurleen Kaur by four strokes to earn her first title on the LPGA Tour. Akie’s most recent success has put the Rolex First-Time Winner on an upward trajectory in the season-long standings, as she is currently 10th in the Race to the CME Globe, fourth in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year standings and 22nd in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Much of this success can be attributed to her overall consistency, as, according to KPMG Performance Insights, Iwai ranks fifth in strokes gained approach per round (+0.98), seventh in strokes gained tee to green (+1.39) and ninth in strokes gained total (+1.73). She additionally ranks inside the top 10 in birdie or better percentage (3, 24.39 percent), birdie percentage (3, 23.63 percent), putts per green in regulation (T7, +1.75), birdie or better average (9, 4.39) and scoring average (9, 70.39).

Chisato Iwai became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the MEXICO Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba in May, winning by six shots over her fellow rookie Jenny Bae in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. This week’s FM Championship is the 19th start of the 23-year-old’s rookie campaign on the LPGA Tour, one that has seen Chisato earn a victory and two additional top-five results – a tie for third at The Standard Portland Classic, where her twin sister collected her first win on the LPGA Tour, and a tie for fourth that came at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June. She is currently sitting at 13th in the Race to the CME Globe, third in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year standings and 32nd in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Iwai is currently ranked inside the top 25 of three strokes gained categories this year, according to KPMG Performance Insights data. She is 14th in strokes gained tee to green (+1.14), 19th in strokes gained total (+1.30) and 25th in strokes gained off the tee (+0.48). Iwai has also made 218 birdies (10th) and eight eagles (5th) in 2025, currently ranking 20th in birdie or better percentage (20.33 percent).

Defending champion Haeran Ryu is looking to win back-to-back FM Championships this week at TPC Boston, having picked up her second career title at the inaugural event in 2024 after defeating former Rolex Rankings No. 1 Jin Young Ko on the first playoff hole. This is Ryu’s 18th start of the 2025 LPGA Tour season, and in her 17 previous tournaments, the Republic of Korea native picked up her third Tour title at the Black Desert Championship presented by Greater Zion and earned two additional top-10 results at The Chevron Championship, where she tied for sixth with a four-round total of 5-under, and most recently posting at 16-under after 72 holes at Columbia Edgewater Country Club to finish in a share of seventh at The Standard Portland Classic. The 24-year-old is currently sitting at 15th in the Race to the CME Globe and is 10th in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Looking at KPMG Performance Insights data, statistically, Ryu is one of the LPGA Tour’s best athletes and has dominated this year with her ball striking, currently leading in strokes gained tee to green (+2.06) and strokes gained approach (+1.40), ranking seventh in strokes gained off the tee (+0.72) and 15th in strokes gained total (+1.41). The Republic of Korea native additionally leads the Tour in greens in regulation (77.5 percent), is second in greens in regulation percentage from the fairway (82.84 percent), is tied for second with 10 eagles in 56 rounds and is currently tied for third in bogey-free rounds (7).

Thursday, 1:32 p.m./Friday, 8:17 a.m.* – Megan Khang/Ingrid Lindblad/Lexi Thompson

Megan Khang is looking to make Massachusetts proud this week at the FM Championship at TPC Boston, as she returns to her home state following a T35 finish in the inaugural edition of this championship last season. The 26-year-old has put together a strong 2025 campaign, collecting five top-10 finishes so far this year, highlighted by a runner-up result at the Dow Championship alongside Lexi Thompson, who will also be teeing it up alongside Khang this week in Bean Town. Her most notable finish of the year so far has been a tie for sixth at the AIG Women’s Open, but she also put up a solid T7 performance at the CPKC Women’s Open, a tournament that saw Khang pick up her first win on Tour back in 2023. Khang currently leads the LPGA Tour in par-5 scoring average (4.56), and according to KPMG Performance Insights, she also ranks third in both strokes gained approach (+1.12) and strokes gained tee to green (+1.66). In 15 starts this season, she has made 13 cuts and racked up five top-10 results, entering the week at 24th in the Race to CME Globe standings with just over 962 points. Over the course of her career, the Massachusetts native has earned one LPGA Tour victory, 47 top-10s and 93 top-25 finishes.

After dominating on the Epson Tour, Ingrid Lindblad has made waves in her rookie season on the LPGA Tour, already capturing her first Tour victory at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro. The 25-year-old Swede, who joined the LPGA in 2025 after graduating from Louisiana State University and turning pro in 2024, earned her breakthrough win in just her third start as an Epson Tour member at the Tuscaloosa Toyota Classic last year. After she secured her LPGA card, Lindblad then has quickly shown she belongs in the game’s biggest spotlight by outdueling the field to win in Los Angeles, a triumph that immediately signaled her arrival among the game’s best. In 13 starts this season, she has made seven cuts and tallied one top-25 finish in addition to her victory, amassing $732,325 in official earnings and currently sitting at 43rd in the Race to CME Globe standings. On the statistical front, according to KPMG Performance Insights. Lindblad is ranked ninth in strokes gained putting (+0.92), while also gaining 0.66 strokes total on her competitors each week. As only one of 23 different LPGA winners this season, Lindblad is hoping to make a big impact in Boston to hopefully find the second victory of her 2025 rookie season.

Lexi Thompson is playing for a second time at TPC Boston in the 2025 edition of the FM Championship, having tied for 15th here last season. In a year that has seen her make limited appearances in LPGA Tour events since announcing her retirement from full-time professional golf in 2024, Thompson has made six cuts in just nine starts and posted two top-10 finishes – a solo second that came at the Dow Championship alongside her playing partner and groupmate for the first two rounds of the FM Championship, Megan Khang, and a tie for fourth at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. According to KPMG Performance Insights, Thompson is within the top 25 of two strokes gained categories this season, currently sitting at 24th with a strokes gained total of +1.20 and ranking 25th in strokes gained putting (+0.60). She is ranked fifth in greens in regulation from the rough percentage (61.34%) and is 10th in par-3 scoring average (2.97). The 30-year-old Coral Springs, Fla., native first joined the LPGA Tour in 2012, and Thompson’s storied legacy includes 11 LPGA Tour victories, one of which was a major championship title that came at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship. She has made over $15.3 million in career money, earned 93 top-10 results and tallied 163 top-25 finishes.
